Wednesday’s Wink … { Going Batty this Halloween }

Do you decorate for Halloween? (a little, a lot?). As much as I would LOVE to incorporate looooots of Halloween decor in our home, time is an issue for hubby and I … we simply usually want to VEG when we get home (ever feel that way?). So, what we do is decorate with items that MAKE AN IMPACT (the in your face type of wow … economically of course!). Above is a photo of the bats “we” added to our windows … and my “we”, I mean hubby did the work and I took photos. There’s no twisting his arm, he loooves decorating for the holidays. Aren’t the bats adorable????

They came in a sheet … which cost ONLY about $7 (spotted at a 40% off sale in Jo-Ann store):

Yep, aaaaaaaaaall those bats for about $7 buckaroos. It’s a Martha Stewart design item, here’s the sheet it came in and the design name:

You simply peel it off the sheet and mount it (cling it) to the window! Suuuuper easy to do!

Do you like the design we created? .. as if they were all flying to one direction … maybe following candy .. and from one window frame to the other:

We placed the moon in our guest room.

Speaking of outside … we added more fun ghosts to our collection. Hubby looooves decorating for the holidays (practically knocks me out of the way in store aisles … um, seriously he does), all in good fun esp since I practically knock him over when I spot unique decor every other 300  or so days of the year!

Last year’s ghosts where the ‘mischievous laughing’ looking ones. I have named the new ones the “hey YOU LOOKING AT ME” ghosts. See what I mean?

Our firepot Dhalias flowers are doing AMAZING:

Did you see how we decorated our home inside? Leggie (which I wrote about last Wed) is doing great! As u see he has created his nest:

More pics indoors below and are you ready to see how our playful bats look at night ………..

here they are ……………

Whatchathink? Remember, you CAN decorate economically … again the bats w/moon ooooooonly cost $7 buckaroos.

I still haven’t carved any pumpkins …. yet! Maybe this weekend so I can post it on our Monday’s Make-it column (last year I created a spider pumpkin). Below are some designs hubby and I created several years ago ….

I’m driving to a consultation today. Hmmm, maybe I can pick up some pumpkins after the consult. My client emailed me that she is very excited about the meeting, and so am I … every project is special and unique since all my clients are special to my heart. They entrust my vision for them and I want them to be 100% happy living in their home. I’m heading to the my home office now …. a loooong walk from living room now, haha! Have a GREAT day!

The windows look really great and scary for little trick or treaters

Thanks Rooth … I think they will follow the bats to the candy on Halloween :) Last year I wasn’t home for the tricker treaters so we left a table with lots of candy out, the funny thing is that we got EXTRA candy on the table not sure if … it was neighbors pitching in or ‘treats’ from the kids :) .

Ok, if this is you doing the minimum because you don’t have a lot of time- I’m impressed! I mean, you guys really go all out for Halloween (I love it!) And, by the way, your garden also looks great.

    • Ada says:

Awwwe, thanks :) OMG … we woudl have spider webs everywhere if we had time to install (+ to remove) … what goes up must come down :)

  3. I’m loving the bats, especially at night. That’s great that your husband is so enthusiastic about decorating. I’m into decorating more this year since my son is so excited, but usually I don’t go too overboard for Halloween.

Glad to hear that u r into decorating this year Lisa … HAVE FUN decorating w/your son … your hubby may be tempted to decorate seeing how much fun it is. My hubby practically knocks me over so HE can decorate hahaha

  4. I love the design you’ve made … and the ghosts in the garden. Perfectly spooky decor!!

Last year we purchased 2, and this year stumbled upon more so we had to buy 2 more so they could join the fun :) Hmm, it may become a tradition to keep adding new fun ghost designs.

I kinda keep forgetting to turn the lights on at night to give the glow outside (yikes) …. we have had such great reviews from neighbors!
