Wednesday’s Wink… A Step Back in Time!

Hubby and I recently recently drove to the historic home of Bill and Lois Wilson, called the Stepping Stones. For those that do not know, Bill Wilson was the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, and his wife Lois was the founder of Al-Anon. I loved being able to see the past cherished and preserved so genuinely, plus that fact that this was the home of a couple who has helped so many people almost gave me goosebumps. In the tour we were allowed to take photos of the kitchen … so of course … flash flash flash … I took tons of pics. Below are some

Cool seeing that Lois had a cup with her name (I am pointing to it in the photo above). I still have a cup with my name as well that was purchased when I was about 10 years old.  I loved seeing the vintage stove, and the teacups so perfectly aligned. If you are around the vicinity check out  the home now listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places and the New York State Women’s Heritage Trail. It is full of documents, photographs, and objects like the desk upon which the Big Book was written, to the everyday items like Lois’ eyeglasses.
