Wednesday’s Wink … { a “Splash” in the Bathroom }

Here I am below installing a wall decal to give a SPLASH of coool design to my client’s guest bathroom.

The reason for the wall decal was also to lighten up the muted wall color in the bathroom. I didn’t select the wall color for this bathroom (another designer had recommended it to my client), but I explained to my client Michael that the wall color is a bit overwheming for the small room especially since the ceiling was painted as well … the solution … instead of repainting it we added elements (coooool decals!!!) that lighteded up the walls.

Whatcha think? See how I extended the decal from 1 wall to the other …

We also added artwork to give more visual interest to the painted walls. I sourced the art [my client loves the ocean so I stayed with a beach theme], and frames with a white mat that brings focus to the art.

We joked around that my client’s guests may take a loooong time in the bathroom simply to admire the design. With the help of my design intern, Nicole, I also added another SPLASH decal to the door:

Here’s a closer look at the door with the decal.

Yesterday I was at a design  installation which also included adding decals and omg … my body is sooo achy (ooouuuiii) from standing on the ladder stretrching and applyign the decals, the good nes is that my clients loved the way it turned out (yaaah). We took some pics of it t

    I like the overall look of the bathroom. If I entered this bathroom I probably be one of those people observing the design taking my sweet time looking at everything :)
