Happy V-day | DIY heart candy words

Happy Valentines Day! I luv the candy hearts that have little saying on them, buuuuut hubby doesn’t – he prefers peanut butter cups. So, time to get creative ….

(1) I purchased a bag of the peanut butter cups, …(2) whipped out my label folders ….

(3) drew hearts + words (using Microsoft Word) … typing words like ONE KISS, or I LUV YOU (you know, like the traditional valentine’s heart candies, but with a twist of Ada’s style!)

(4) then cut the heart shape …

I must admit …. it took me a good 30 minutes to do this. Within 10 minutes of the project I almost gave us … I don’t like cutting out smaaaaall object, but what kept me going was remembering WHY (for whom) I was turning my office desk into confetti central .. for the man I love. I kept remembering all the wonderful small things that he does for me that makes me love him more and more each day. So, onward I went …. snip snip snip:

This DIY v-day gift was a learning process, next VALENTINES I WILL BE MORE PREPARED! How? (1) I can invest in a heart shape paper cutter tool (stop being a cheapooo) and (2) I can simply WRITE the love notes in ink instead of typing them (and worrying about aligning them within the hearts).

By the way, HE LOOOOOOVED it! He also loved, ok, maybe ‘liked’ the V-days cards I made for him from used items (matches, etc. seen here)… maybe ‘too girly for him’ but let’s be honest I kinds made it for both of us bec I find them adorable to look at.

Happy Valentines! Sending you love from my heart to yours!
