Tasty Tuesdays … { treat yourself w/2 magic words }

Isn’t the snowman marshmallow simply ADORABLE? I spotted it at Michaels craft store, and it instantly gave me a smile so I purchased it EVEN THOUGH I dislike the taste of marshmallows. Hmm, crazy? I don’t think so, bec even though I won’t eat it, it still brings me ‘comfort’ = a visual ‘oooh how sweet and adorable’ comfort (plus, I would finish my hot cocoa drink b/4 the marsh would get sooooggy). It’s like being pissed off at something then seeing a photo of a puppy (kitten, baby, etc) and then … you melt from it’s adorableness forgetting how pissed off u were.

I believe that it is important (especially in our fast paced high-tech electronics world) to surround ourselves with items (or marshmallows haha) that bring us visual joy that touches our heart -  that brings us an inner calmness. So, I am not a fan of the marshmallow, but I do looooove hot cocoa; therefore the snowman-mallow on the hot cocoa brings me a visual calmness. Here is the snowman relaxing by the cocoa jazuzzi:

This new year I am aiming to stay in jacuzzi (relax) mode. Last year was cRaZy buuusy! I was ecstatic (like, out of body – almost in tears – happy) to find out from my accountant that my biz doubled it’s profit (woot woot!) within 2 years (holey freaking moley)! Great news, but I do confess that it was tiring zzzzz (a I need a body massage/spa appt every day type-of-hectic).

Last year draining! Filled with so many … I have to’s … to do this … to do that … stress (faint! thump!). Even with 2 assistants + 1 intern I felt disheveled alot (I may look great in the outside = thanks to the invention of make-up and my fashion style, but oooh boy was I a bit of a stress ball in the inside). So this year I am aiming to incorporate more meditation in my daily life. Instead of using my mind to factor my ‘i have to’s', I am aiming to use my heart more to lead my path this year. Though many times the mind need a bit of fine-tuning from keeping us from going back to old habits.

There are 2 MAGIC words that keeps me focused. These magic words are so powerful that they don’t allow me to ‘talk myself out of doing things” …. like hitting the snooze button (cue thought: I’ll simply work late at night instead of getting up early to meet deadlines), or having a large piece of cheesecake (cue thought: I know I gained 20 extra pounds, but I will start eating healthy tomorrow), or  It’s toooo cold to go to the gym (cue thought: I know I always feel more energetic after the gym but there’s probably traffic so instead of a 15 minute drive it would take me longer to get there). So, what’s the 2 magic words? ……………….. No Negotiations!

Yep, that simple – I’m aiming to train my mind not to negotiate on certain things. I’ve written down goals that I know I won’t miraculously reach without some ‘action’ from myself. So, before I motivate my body into ACTION, I activate my mind to gear up in NOT NEGOTIATING myself out of my goal (goals that make me smile when I visualize reaching them). With my goal in mind/heart of incorp’g more meditation in my life this year, I turn on my computer and the first thing I click on (before I dive my eyeballs into my emails/designs/facebook/etc) a ~ 5 minute meditation clip from Gabrielle Bernstein – I listen to her ‘releasing’ meditation from her chapter 10 of her book (u can sign up to get ur free meditation at her site). the meditation is very soooooothing reminding me to release all attachments, to detach from outcomes, to allow loving perspectives to step in etc beautiful etc. After the meditation I am READY to  ROCK & ROLL the day. And when I for a second I think to myself … “I’m too busy this am to spare 5 minutes’ … I remember my magic 2 words NO NEGOTIATIONS! and gift myself the time to dedicate to myself = my well being.

So, what are some goals that you want that you can use the NO NEGOTIATION statement with? I’m aiming to post another one of my full interior decorating project peeks tomorrow, though I haven’t even started gathering/prepping the pictures …. so it may be a next week’s Wednesday Wink’s reveal peek (depends how my day goes). As for your day … I hope it is wonderful. Thanks for stopping by!

Remember …. live great within your home, heart and tummy!

    I just had to say that’s the happiest looking cup of hot chocolate I’ve ever seen! It’s also awesome that you bought those marshmallows even though you had no intention of eating them.
