Monday’s Make-it … { ‘Rescued’ Lampshade! }

How was your weekend? We had a HUGE storm on Saturday in NY, but Sunday was a gorgeous sunny day! Today’s post is a ‘fix-it’.

I’ve had a table lamp that had a broken frame and it has been on my to-do-fix-list foreveeeer. I swear, I really do need to ‘pretend’ I am a client to get things done wound my home many times. I had to fix the frame + add new tape to the bottom to hold the shade on the frame. But where do I find the time … and I needed to get/buy materials …. so onto my eventually to-do-list it went.

However, just the other day when I was looking through my First Aid Kit …

…. I realized that the white medical tape looks EXACTLY like the linen white tape used to hold the shade to the frame and it’s adhesive!!!! Queue in the AHA (did you visualize a light bulb lite up?) To the rescuuuuuuuue we go! So, I finally fixed it:

I wrapped the tape around the frame:

Here’s another view:

Then I connected the shade to the frame with the medical tape. It took be about 10 minutes (vs how many days / weeks/umm, ok ok MOOONTHS) to fix! Are there any projects around your home that you have on your eventually-to-do-list?

Pssst, I also spotted some bandages in the First Aid Kit. Hmmmmm … does someone need a Mummy for Halloween?

    Well done Ada! Hurray for crossing one projects of the list. I have so many small projects around the house I have lost track of how many there actually are. What I always notice is how once I get around to them, they only require minuscule amounts of time. Happy week!

  2. Such a great idea! That shade was worth saving.
