Pumpkins + Christmas lights unite!

Oh my … when I show this magazine page to my hubby he may want to create his very own ‘illuminating’ pumpkins using Christmas lights. All you need is (1) a pumpkin, (2) marker to outline your design, (3) a drill, (4) and outdoor Christmas lights. If you have ‘This Old House’ magazine and haven’t read it yet …. what are you waiting for…. Halloween is less than 2 weeks away …. go check out page 25 – 26, here a peek:

Hmmm, where’s my drill? If you create a similar design please do share pictures with me (I LOVE pictures!!!!) and if I find my drill and time to create one I’ll share pics as well. ~ Hugs!

  1. Love this idea! Especially the silver painted one. Too bad my husband won’t allow me to use the drill (for good reason). Guess I’ll just get him to do it!!

Hi Sarah … so u are banned from the drill huh! Sounds like u have a funny story :) I have been meaning to get a lighter drill one for myself … mine tends to give me a bicept workout :) If u do create the combo (pumpkin + lights) please do send me picks. I would loooove to see them!

  2. What a fabulous idea… any ways around using a drill? Not sure if I’m geared up for that… but the idea is awesome. I’ll take a picture if I do it and send it to you.

  3. Hi Andrea ….. yes, you can skip the drill and go to ur local hardware store to get a long thick nail (prob less than $2 for a set), outline with dots your design using a sharpie (marker), place nail on the dot design then hammer ‘on’ the nail .. not the pumpkin .. unless u had a bad day then it could be a stress reliever to smash away stress hahaha.
