Hellooooooooo Monday! (Can u tell I am very AWAKE!). How was ur weekend? Mine was filled gardening (hubby revamped a garden wall, I took pics so I can share them w/u on another Monday. So, onto today’s post … Messes simply STRESS me out … I can’t function well around mess, so today’s tip is my sneaky way to avoid mess when drilling holes into your walls! The test guinea pig = my kitchen! I wanted to add hooks to hang some pans and my tea cups, but the busy (aka: hates cleaning!) gal that I am, I didn’t want to clean up all the crazy dust that gathers (or shall I say .. scatters) after a drilling party. So to my rescue …. envelopes! Yep, ENVELOPES = a no mess make-it remedy!
I grabbed a standard size envelope (like we really use envelope much these days for actually mailing letters, right???!!!). I taped the envelope to the wall where I was going to drill the hole for the hook, and the envelope (sooo beautifully!!!!) picked up the drywall dust. Ohh so simply sweet!
Here’s a horrible photo of me (with my goofy glasses)
Hole made, anchors added, hook placed … and I didn’t have to take out the vacuum!
I love the look of hanging pots (PLUS ….. I love how easily accessible they are = which is a biggie for this busy family over here!).
Next is the tea cup hooks. Steps: mark hook placement with pencil, envelope up with tape, add anchors, twist and turn hook in and … enjoy accessible tea cups! Tea anyone????
Here’s the end result. Do you like our white shelves? Can u tell I have a ‘thing’ for white dishware (I find them sooo serene, especially next to our aqua blue walls!
Here’s a closeup below:
I do have other none white dishware in our kitchen (I swear I do!!!) … I even have polka dotted bowls. But, as you can see from our cereal containers below … we are LOW on cereal so I have to make time to head over to the supermarket, so I am ending the post here today. Next Monday, I will show more peeks of my kitchen content including my chalkboard painted wall. Have a beautiful day!!!
