What’s New … { Thanksgiving Day Parade }

To all my American buds, I hope you had a SPECTACULAR Thanksgiving Day!!! Hubby and I went to Macy’s 86th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in NY and it was ….. sooo much fun! Clients of mine gave us some great designated seating tickets so we were about to see the broadway plays snippets performed live …. including Matthew Broderick in “Nice Work if You can Get it”, Annie (even the dog performed!!), and more.  We we also able to go to Macy’s Post Parade gathering (which was = yummy foooooood!). Perfect appetizers before we had to zoom back home to start cooking. Aren’t the tix fun and festive looking?

This is my FAVORITE photos since it has the Empire State Building in the back:

But first, I had to ruuuuun for the train to make it into Manhattan on time, the Shuttle train was ‘decorated’ so appropriately:

Here’s a peek at the inside, I was looking forward to seeing the Papa Smurf float …

Yeaaaaaah, there he is !!!!!

This is another fave of mine SPIDER-MAN (plus, I admit I am was a fan of the animation):

Wow, Charlie Brown grew up … sooo big: . . .

. . . here’s Po’s butt (from Kung Fu Panda animation … another cartoon I watch).

Ok, oooookay, I admit it …. I LOVE to WATCH cartoons!!!! They are so brilliantly written (many times I think more aimed for adult humor than kids), so yes I like watching Spongebob as well (picture me flaring my hands frantically waving hello to him).

It was cool seeing Whoopi Goldberg on a pirates float, other performers were …

. . . comedian Jimmy Fallon, musicians Neon Trees; also Carly Rae Jepsen, Karmin, Snoopy and Woodstock, tons of different festive clowns (not the creepy looking one haha), and the marching bands were AMAZING. I was especially impressed by the band from Mexico as they constantly extended their bodies forward and then back (but in an almost limbo-dance-like back extend w/musical instruments on hand).

I took the train into Manhattan, but hitched a ride back with hubby in the car so we can continue cooking frantically and wait for fam to arrive. The next day, hubby and I had our regular Black Friday tradition … we drive to Home Depot to get our beautiful Christmas tree. The fluffier, greener, and taller the better. We spotted this beauty:

Then we realized that the bottom didn’t fit into out base (YIKES!!!!), but no fret ….. hubby grabbed the saw and turned all mountain man making the tree fit (hooraaaaayy). We still have more to do, so I’ll end here. Have a beautiful FUN day.

    I haven’t been to the parade in ages. But would happily go if I had such amazing seating! Also glad you had such great weather for it on Thursday.

    The parade looked like it was totally fun - not too cold I hope?

    • Ada says:

      Hi Rooth, it wasn’t too cold at all .. plus we were seated outside of Macy’s = I was just a few steps away from walking inside the store to use the bathroom and get tea.

    Oh that’s so fun! You’re so lucky you get to go. I completely forgot about it this year so I didn’t watch. Happy to see your photos!
