Monday’s Make-it … {chic tree stump coffee tables}

Happy Monday! It is14 degrees in New York right now = brrrrr! How’s the temperature where u live? Here’s a question for today’s post: Do you love change? (I don’t mean moolaaah .. I know we all luv that).

Alicia from Thrifty and Chic has a renovating fun streak so insatiable that she’s constantly re-decorating her home. But how does she afford all this?? Well, that’s where the ‘thrifty’ part comes into play, where everything she makes are so creatively economical, you can’t help but be inspired … like I was by her amazing Tree Stump Coffee Table!!

Here’s a pic after being sanded and in the process of a coat of ivory paint (pssst … I dig the 2 tone color) …

Alicia painted it completely. The finished product! Look how it just brightens up a room. The beauty of economical home decor. Looks so wintery fresh …

Head over to Alicia’s blogsite for more information on how to make one of these tables your very own! Several months ago I created a video on the tree stump that I tackled into my car (ok, ok … my hubby was really the one that carried it … there was NO way I could lift it). Check out my vid  here. (Thank you Alicia for sharing your creativity with us!) I hope this has inspired you all!

    It is so cold out there, it’s scary! This is a great project- especially when you see the end product in a finished room. Looks great.

      Hi Santa, Yeah the end results almost looks like a beautiful winter wonderland … ‘indoors’ .. where it is noce an warm :)

  2. Yikes! That is cold! It’s a toasty 5 degrees Celsius here! I love the idea of painting a stump and using it as a table… now just to find a stump… in London!

    This room reminds me of a winter wonderland. Depends on the mood I’m in to make a change. Sometimes I like to dive right into a change because it’s exciting but there are times it can be a little scary. It’s an adventure :)

  4. great idea, ada! i’d never think of it, but now that it’s in my head i won’t look at a tree stump the same way. joy to you, n

  5. Theresa says:

    What a genius idea! I agree with you, a two-tone paint job would have been interesting, as well.
    PS~Oh, that is freezing. Stay warm and take care of that cold. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

  6. What a cool project. The stumps look great in Alicia’s room with all the white she’s got going on.
