How was ur weekend? This Sat gal pal Kathy and I met up in Manhattan for a spa day, including brunch and shopping. I got a facial and a ‘slimming body’ treatment too … though after my brunch and 2 glasses of wine I may had put the pounds back on! Onto today’s post …
I can get a bit cRaZyyyy when I have spray paint in my hands .. ooooh the POWER!!!!!! Guess, it’s bec I know how easily we can TRANSFORM an item with pAiNt (oh, sorry I channeled my craziness again! haha). I found a beautiful chandelier and a lovely beaded ceiling medallion for my foyer. I wanted the ceiling medallion to give more visual weight to the chandelier + ceiling soooooo … wanna guess what I did? …. yep …. thsssss <– that’s my spray painting sound! I found a ‘chrome (gloooossy beauty) plated’ color to match our chandelier:
Here’s our chandelier, please excuse the mess (my hair!!) …
Here’s the crystals … It’s a pain having to place each one individually (but oooooh so worth it afterwards):
Oh, here is what the lighting situation was before the chandelier … i know …. BIG zzzz + eeeewwwww:
We (um, hubby) removed the ceiling mounted light fixtures, and mounted the ceiling medallion (with my spray painting genius capability) and the chandelier …. isn’t it pretty?
Here’s an overall view – what a MAJOR different form the boringzzzz ceiling fixture that we had … making-it our home (reflecting us), one project at a time:
Oh, for the blue wall I used a metallic paint to give it a pearl-like sheen – more on that on another post. I love our home, and sometimes (ok, maaaaaany times) I have to classify ‘myself’ as a client in order to prioritize my home projects (seriously, I have to add myself to my schedule … that is the ONLY way that I don’t procrastinate haha. Do you have any tips on how to not procrastinate from home projects?

oh its lovely!!! i heart chandeleirs…
Glad u do as well
I can definitely relate to the having to classify yourself as a client part. The medallion looks great- perfect scale for the chandelier.
It def helps, though weekends come and go sooo quickly. Since I work so much during the week with home projects sometimes I simply want a break from ANY … which includes myself. However, it does feel GREAT when accomplished
Super pretty! Love the ceiling medallion… completes the fixture!
Glad u think so too Tiffany! It gives it a ‘oooh so pretty’ balance
Looks sooo pretty! I love how you jazzed it up with the crystals! Unfortunately, I still procrastinate on pretty much everything sooo no, I have no tips haha
Ooh, so do i .. but when I finally finish a project it feels WONDERFUL!!!
I love your chandelier! Now I want to find a place for a new chandelier.

No tips on how not to procrastinate on home projects, I suffer from the same ailment
Maybe I need to classify myself as a client as as well. The chandelier and the medallion look awesome!
Oooh that ‘procrastination bug’ is very sneaky … knows how to talk us out of doing projects
What a nice transformation. Those spa days are sooo needed. That procrastination bug just sneaks right in sometimes.
Oooooh yes and I SOOOO NEEDED THE SPA TIME! Procrastination is a sneaky bugger
Love it! I’ve become addicted to spray painting as well. Love the silver metalic look!

The metallic paint is a great touch and that really enhances the space with a chic modern look. Being a home remodeling person myself I think this is great work!
Glad you liked my idea of spray painting!!! Yaaay!
Love, love the chandelier!!! Where did you find it? I’m looking for one just like it for my living room.
Hi Robyn, I purchased it at Home Depot for about $150 (or less). I hope they still have it available for you. It will look gorgeous!
