Yep, that is me below with a reindeer hat on in the form of a gift tag that I created using standard blank business cards from Staples. I didn’t actually wear the hat or hold the stocking, I used a regular photo, cropped the background out, then added the holiday red reindeer hat (more diy info to come).
I think I may turn this into a yearly holiday tradition for Christmas presents – it easily identifies who the wrapped present is for and fun to look at. The photo of the handsome guy is my hubby:
Here’s the scoop on how I created the photo cards: (1) I found a photo of hubby (which I took when we went to San Francisco, California this year … a nice way to reminisce) then using Photoshop I cropped the background out so I can have a white background (which would match more with whatever wrapping paper color/design I use), then (2) I used Picnic to add the Christmas images like the hat, snowflakes, tag, there is nooo much more stuff we can add .. then saved it as a jpeg ….
… (3) I uploaded the image to Microsoft Word label documents then and printed it on Avery Avery Business Card # 8371 paper, and druuummmm rooolllll … (4) used a punchhole. Here’s a pic of the Avery paper:
So, whatcha think? I added a ‘tag’ within the custom photo tag so I can write something about why I got him the particular present:
I also created photo gifts tags for friends with their photo and mine in it so they ‘visually’ know who the present is from :) Below is a blurred peek at one (top/left), blurred bec I don’t what my friend to see it …. yet.
So, what do you think? Do you love it? I looove how they look. Oh, do you see the snow flurries on some of the photos??? .. courtesy of Picnic’s features. I believe you can use some of their features for free – so check it out!
Now it’s time to give my gift tags to my hubby so he can place them on my gifts! How’s your present wrapping coming along? If you create your own photo gift tag, I would loooove to see them so please send me photos of your creation.

I think this is such a cool idea. I’m definitely doing it this year. I’m a late gift wrapper (wrapping gifts at 3am xmas eve) so writing names on labels gets messy. Also people could keep the labels as a keepsake.
They do make a great keepsake, I didn’t think of that when creating it, but since I published it I have received several comments that people would keep then as keepsakes … how sweet! I know I will def keep the one I created for my hubby and vice versa.
I love the pic of your husband with his sunglasses on. Nice touch.
Hi Lisa .. yeah I was glad I was able to find an ‘action photo’ .. him with his iconic sunglasses walking. He seriously never leaves home without his sunglasses hahaha.
