Last weekend hubby and I went to the traditional lighting of the Christmas tree in Lincoln Center … in the 11th annual Winter’s Eve event that features free entertainment including funny Mariachi band), jugglers, a nutcracker guard ice sculpture created in front of us, and my favorite part of the event (besides chatting with Santa Claus) was …. the FOOD!!! You see, at this event there are delicious food tasting samples … which is a wonderful way for people to get to know the restaurants around the neighborhood (UWS in Manhattan). I had several food samplings including a crab cake from Josephina and the shrimp burger from Sushi a-Go-Go . Here are a few pics I took from my phone showing the tree, ice sculpture artist creating the art with a chainsaw, Mariachi band, and more … and yes I am the one in the cozy white hat that keeps my ears nice and toasty:

How lovely to see the Lincoln Center this time of year! I hope to make many more trips the the city in 2011. I have a long list of things to see, and I will add this idea to the list!

Funny .. I actually do not live in the city, but near it …. when looking for our new home ‘LOCATION’ was TOP on the list bec. we wanted our home to be near the city (wonderful energy and shops), but have a suburban (calming) feel & look. We found the perfect home for us
