I am totally smitten with this month’s issue from the UK mag called LivingEtc! I know exactly why I am drawn to drool over this mag … it’s the unique details showcased within the homes! You know the kind, then ones that make you say “ooohahhhh”, or “that’s sooo cool” or “what the heck” … the details that make your heart smile. Like in the above photo I LOVE the swirl side table! And, did you see the console table’s base?
Unique details like the painted dining table ….
Try to picture the space without the red/orange dining table, and you will see how the table gives the vibrancy in their space. I luv.
Unique details like the floor lamp (on the left side) ….
At a quick glance it looks like a submarine telescope coming out of the ground (yes, I have a vivid imagination!). I luv.
Unique details like in the walls …
The bricks, the wall paint, the glasses-hole in the wall (next to the tub, did you spot it? It used to be a hole with a cover to allow ventilation for the room; the owners added a stained glass and voila -> creative uniqueness!
Unique details like the painted rug in the floor ….
Actually, it is NOT painted! It is a rug, but at first glance I thought it was painted. And that, my friends, is what I call an inspired thought = when you can look at something (rug) and be inspired to turn it into something else (paint). Hmm, now if I can only find a client who will allow me to paint their floors!

Why we love the spread? Each room feels like it arose out of a life well lived – discoveries at the flea market, strolls through the galleries, and adventures to distant lands. The choices seem personal and reflective of distinct personalities. And, I guess, they’re just our style
Well you are certainly right about the many unique details. I really like the wall paneling in the living room- so unexpected.
The rooms feel like I could just move right in and feel at home.
I’ve always been a fan of Living Etc. The latest issue looks fab, I’ll have to go and pick a copy up. Especially love the rug in the children’s room – I’m looking for one like this for my girls room (if I don’t fnd one, perhaps I cna paint one haha!).
Haha, I bet you would and it would turn out spectacular!
You are so right about the unusual details, it really makes the space. Hello wooden bathtub!
That tub is crazy unique!
That is so very cool – I’m going to have to pick up that mag when I’m in the UK later this month
U’ll luv it! Have fun in UK
