Today’s post is aimed to inspire you to mix and match pillows in your living room/ family room. I find decorative pillows that are the same color as the sofa to look zzzzzzzz. Instead …. mix it up! Does color scare you? Replace fear with fun.
[1] if your sofa is light in color add a dark color against it and vice versa (see purple pillow above), then add a lighter one in front of it (see blue one). [2] Nervous about what color to choose? Then, try this out = get pillows of similar hues from lighter to darker (ombre on!) to decorate your sofa (gradient coolness!).
[3] And different designs/patterns do play GREAT together. How can you manage to have them play ‘nice’ without fighting / clashing with each other? The trick is to get complementary colors! Check out how wonderfully these pillows look next to each other.
Ooh yeah, and another tip is to HAVE FUN!!!! Did you spot the cute (well behaved) dog above? October’s astrological signs are Libra and Scorpio so why NOT show off your birth month … pillow parteee!
Yesterday I had my energizer-bunny-batteries on (may had something to do with the amount of caffeine I consumed) that I zoomed through a great amount of work (yeah!), so today should be easy breezy sourcing some furniture items for my clients and wrapping up the final design touches for an email consultation order. I’m sooooo looking forward to this weekend’s well needed rest. How about you? Last weekend I flew overseas for an emergency visit to see a sick relative. A bitter sweet goodbye full of sad tears and joyous laughter from great memories. This weekend is relaxing time. Oh, wait we get our kitchen floors this Saturday. Ok, then Suuuuunday is hide at home and relax by the fireplace day! What are your plans this weekend?

I love adding color with accessories such as pillows. It gives your sofa an entirely new look just with a splash of color. The bird cage pillow is adorable.
